About Shelly Haug Monti, MD

Dr. Shelly Monti is a triple board-certified physician in Pediatrics, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and Hospice & Palliative Medicine, with an additional specialty certification in Pediatric Bioethics. She cares deeply about providing evidence-based and family-centered care to critically ill newborns.

Dr. Monti has extensive experience caring for medically fragile infants and helping families navigate complex medical decisions. Throughout her career, she has developed neonatal and perinatal palliative care programs, educational resources, and clinical guidelines that have influenced care in hospitals across the country. She is dedicated to improving provider communication skills around serious illness and educating healthcare professionals in the art and practice of difficult conversations with honesty, empathy, and confidence.

Outside of medicine, she is an avid mountaineer and polar endurance athlete who enjoys pursuing ambitious challenges in some of the world’s most remote environments.
